Review of L'oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Amaranthe Lipstick by Gong Li

Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing great. Today I will be reviewing L'oreal Paris Collection Star by Gong Li in the shade Pure Amaranthe(CSR3). L'oreal Paris had launched Star Collection in the shades Red and Pink. I am deeply in love with Red. Whenever I see a red lippie I feel as if it's saying 'Hey Come Pick Me Up. You Don't Wanna Miss Me'. Actually I was looking for the shade that Freida Pinto is promoting in Asia. But it was out of stock. But then I noticed this baby and the color was very pretty so I thought of giving it a shot. Before this I never had any red hued pink lipstick. So I was very excited to try it out.

I ordered this shade from www.amazon.in The shade is priced INR995. But I got this shade for INR725. I just love discounts. So moving on to the review. The lipstick comes with a transparent plastic on top which mentions all the details such as MRP, Ingredients, Manufacturing details, etc. But I really don't like this idea because once you remove the plastic you lose all the important details.
First Look
The front part of the lipstick has the company name and the signature of Gong Li engraved on it with golden color. It also has a square block which represents the shade of the lipstick thus facilitating you to recognise the color easily.
Ingredients
The ingredients are mentioned on the transparent plastic in tiny fonts which is very difficult to read. Also the manufacturing details are mentioned. This is not very customer friendly as once you remove it you are left with just the lipstick and no other important information.

The Other Side
The other side of the package mentions the weight of the product. The net weight is 4.2grams. So the price is a bit high. Also the product has a shelf life of 24 months.

Bottom side of the package
The bottom part of the lipstick mentions the brand name, the shade name and the manufacturing month & year.
The lipstick bullet
Once you open the plastic you get the lipstick which is packed in a black case and looks classy. The cap has an angle that fits on the colored square block. This means you have to be careful while closing the product because the cap needs to be closed in a particular way. The color of the bullet matches with the square block so you don't need to open the lipstick to see the shade. Both are identical.
Left Swatch Single Swipe     Right Swatch multiple Swipe
The above picture was taken in daylight. As you can see the color is brilliantly pigmented. Single swipe will color your lips. Multiple swipe will just add more equal distribution. I just fell in love with this color. Its something between pink and red. I mean that the shade is pink which red undertones. It will suit fair to medium skin tones. I will add another picture taken with flash on just for reference.
Picture Snapped With Flash On
When the picture was taken in daylight the lipstick looks soft reddish. But when taken with flash on the lipstick looks bright pink with soft red hues. Either way I love this color. The staying power is excellent. It applies smoothly and then settles as a velvet matte finish. I have the habit to exfoliate my lips before applying lipstick and also apply lip balm 5 minutes beforehand to avoid dry and chapped lips. The lipstick stayed on me for more than 6 hours. It transfered a bit during meals but did not fade away. In fact it just left a soft stain which still looked pretty. Like I said I am in love with this lipstick. However the bullet broke inside the case. It did not fall off nor did I put too much pressure. May be because of heat or may be it was broken before hand and I did not notice. I am really not sure. But it just broke a bit and can be still used hassle-free. I would definitely recommend this shade for you all to try. Dark skin toned people can give it a miss as it might look a bit neony on them. I will leave a picture of mine to show you all how it looked on me.
This is how it looked on me
The lipstick is light on the lips and is not at all waxy. For removing I used extra virgin coconut oil all over my face and lips. The color came off easily but it stained a bit inside the borders of my lips which was a bit dry. So it's very important to exfoliate properly as any color that settles into fines lines or makes the dry lips flaky does not look good.

So that's all for today. Thank you for reading my review. See you all next time until then Keep Smiling.
